Abby up the old Oak Tree

On one of our many "squirrel hunts", Abby and I found a couple little squirrels to chase... and it turned out they were just babies... oops! Well the story goes like this: Abby headed out on her usual "the fun is all in the chase" squirrel chases at the Cemetery, only this time the little guy turned out to be a baby, who seemed not to understand that when a dog is running toward you at full steam ahead the key action is RUN!!! to and up the nearest tree!!! this little guy just watched as the new seen creature(Abby) came charging in to his view, after accessing the situation at his leisure he decide to run to the huge old oat tree about 12 feet away. Only instead of running on up to the top of the tree, the inexperienced baby only ran about 2 feet up and started running sideways around the tree. With Abby hot on his tail, I might add. I am sure the little dude was scared to death, but I have to say it was a funny sight to see this chase around the tree continue for a least four trips around the circumference of this magnificent Oak. Finally the baby run UP. Thank God. He only went up about 10 feet or so and looked back down at the strange new creature who had disturbed his afternoon salvaging for nuts and the such. Abby was also trying to find a way UP, well with Moms help she did... "who me?" couldn't be! any hoo... the baby was high enough I knew Abby could not reach him. Abby was so excited to be up in the tree that she tried to climb up all the branches one after another. I happen to have my camera with me so I caught a few shots of Abby trying to climb the tree... Ain't she cute?!! In the end all was well, baby safe up in the tree tops and Abby and I happily on our way to the next adventure!

Side note: Abby trust me so completely that she jumped down into my arms from the bough tree!
